Felting is one of the oldest forms of fabric making. And it’s the most versatile of all fiber arts! You will experience the art of making felt from your raw fleece using a hand or drum carder. Then we’ll step up to roving and even play with some pre-felted batts. Once you get the idea of the felting technique, the possibilities are limited only by your imagination. But we’ll help you with that too! Marketing tip: Kids love felting. Learn how to felt with kids for your farm day events! We’ll even show you how to market some felting kits.

There are many types of felting techniques. You will learn the basic properties of wet and needle felting and how to design with fibers to create finished products in 2 and 3D dimensions. Then we’ll have fun with a new technique called faux felting! |
