July 2009 Workshop—Island Overlook Farms, Lebanon, TN · Presented Make It—Take It Workshop May 2009 Shearing, Herd Eval & Show Fleeces Prep., Magical Farms, Litchfield, OH · Worked directly with Libby Forstner in the preparation of show fleeces. We also discussed the future of the fiber market and the roll of AOBA in the development and marketing of the USA fiber industry as well as the support AOBA for the growing number of fiber herds during a private dinner. · Worked directly with Tripp Forstner in the evaluation of their breeding program and show string. Amazing opportunity to see the up-and-comers before and directly after shearing. · Worked with world class Australian shearers, Kevin, Trevor on fleece properties, show fleece shearing methods and international show fleece preparations. Studied the Aussie alpaca fibers buyers market ,coop methodology and the international direction of the fiber industry. Lots of marketing ideas, possibilities and insider secrets were discussed during our Round Table discussions at dinner! · Worked with top Australian certified skirter, sorter and classifier, Tonya who showed us that our method of skirting, sorting and grading were right on target with what’s being taught in the Classifiers School in Australia.
January 2009 AOBA Mid Winter Conference, Las Vegas · Presented both sessions of our seminar, From the Bag to the Bank sessions 1 & 2. We had standing room only during parts of the seminar and even with a few techno glitches, received raving reviews. · Attended other seminars and general sessions to broaden our knowledge in EPD’s, Husbandry Record Keeping Systems, Marketing in today’s financial climate, more!

2008 Breeders Choice Auction, Magical Farms, Litchfield, OH · Presented From the Bag to the Bank seminar, sessions 1 & 2 · Retired AOBA president Amy McCroskie attended and commented at our Mill Prep Fleece section (session 2) was right on track to create a superior yarn. We were excited to receive this compliment from Amy who is also a private mill owner and produces her own high quality, superior yarn. Sorry to say that her mill is not open to the public.
